Abstract

SANTOS, Ilka Schapper  and  MICARELLO, Hilda. Letramento, alfabetização e o fortalecimento da identidade sociocultural de segmentos historicamente excluídos. Revista da FAAEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2010, vol.19, n.34, pp.73-83. ISSN 0104-7043.

This paper presents reflections upon repercussions of the insertion in social-cultural reading and writing practices for the strengthening of individual and collective identities of young and adults in literacy process, on the base of the experience developed in the framework of the Project All the Letters of literacy for young and adults, developed by the Agency of Solidarity Development of the Central of Workers in a partnership with Petrobrás, the National Fund for Educational Development, under the seal of Unesco and with the support of Scania do Brasil, as a part of Project Literacy Brazil, of the Ministry of Education. At first, we made some considerations about individual and collective dimensions of literacy. Under the analytic perspective of textual gende as a topological continuum (MARCUSHI, 2001), that occurs in oral and written modalities, we reflected on the repercussions of the appropriation of different text genres for the insertion of individuals in the process of literacy in oral and written practices, mediated by the presence of the written text. At last, we present some excerpts from the empiric corpus of the research, collected from the production of texts and written activities made by individuals involved in the process of literacy, besides interviews and questionnaires answered by the participants of the Project, analyzing it under the light of the theoretical insights previously shown.
