This paper aims to discuss how teacher spiritual dimension contributes to his or her identity process. The theories brought forth are the following: Dubar and Bauman to discuss the identity constitution process, Berger and Luckmann to discuss the necessity of community in the process of meaning construction. Placco proposes that we consider the multiple dimensions of a teacher and how they interact with each other in the teaching process. To these dimensions, we have added the spiritual dimension and for this purpose we use Frankl´s proposition of spirituality as revealing meaning in man´s acts. This research was done in a confessional school in the city of São Paulo, with five teachers, the school director and the pedagogical coordinator. Finally, it is considered that spirituality is essential to the teacher and is a way by which one can work with teachers on the meaning they give to life, and consequently on how they can help students reach schools aim.
