The principal objective of this paper is to describe how the film Santo Forte discusses the Religion issue frequented by his characters, and also how the director has built this movie and its interpretive possibilities. This article was realized by a whole movie’s decoupage, which has included the description of images and a transcription of the speeches. Working on this material, it was possible to create a dialogue between the sequences of the movie and several theoretical areas such as Cinema, Religion and Education. First, the article shows the emergence of the idea in making the movie and provides an overview of as each character, in order of appearance in the film, talking about his religiosity. Later, one of the characters is chosen to analyze the way that the “sacred and profane” might be linked in some religious expressions. We also believe it was the director’s attitude and even how the movie was edited by him that have leaded us to a good understanding about listening each other and how the religion makes part of people’s lives. Finally, the article discusses about how the religion composes each one of us according to the way we was chosen for sharing it.
