Abstract

CONDURU, Roberto. Educando (com) os sentidos: escrita, oralidade e estesia no processo de educação continuada das religiões afro-brasileiras. Revista da FAAEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2011, vol.20, n.35, pp.177-185. ISSN 0104-7043.

Aiming to study, in parallel, educational processes in African-Brazilian religions and school education, this paper analyzes songs as well as objects, practices and beings participating in religious initiation of the umbanda’s and candomblé’s terreiros in Rio de Janeiro, in the light of reflections upon African-Brazilian religions published in books and periodicals. One can note the growing presence of the writing form in this educational context, but still with the dominance of orality and other media, which require constant education of the senses. These practices of permanent education based on aesthesia suggest the articulation of these practices with formal education in schools.

Keywords : Extended Education; Writing; Orality; Aesthesia; Afro-Brazilian Religions.
