This paper is the result of studies, actions and discussions that the authors have developed about Education of Young People and Adults (EYPA), within a dialogic perspective. To address the formation of EYPA educators, a review of the historical policies and practices in the authors' respective countries of origin (Spain and Brazil) is first conducted. We go along with the recovery of the concepts that have influenced and still influence EYPA worldwide, and we follow up with the explanation of the social model in EYPA as one that meets the needs and identity of adulthood and youth. As a social model of reference for EYPA, we present the School of Adult Education of La Verneda-Sant Martí, located in Spain, which has inspired the creation and transformation of schools of education for young people and adults in Brazil. We develop the concept of dialogic learning, which guides the pedagogical and management practices of the School of La Verneda. This concept is a powerful framework for the radicalization of the social model. We conclude reflecting upon teachers' formation and the social model of EYPA referring to a particular experience of short second cycle university program, developed in Brazil.
