ISSN 0104-7043.

This text aims to reflect on teaching practices developed in the process of schooling in the field of adult education. To this end, part of two fundamental questions: what we mean by curriculum? What specifics should exist, according to our understanding, in the curriculum of Youth and Adults Education? Such questions required to revisit theoretical and methodological studies in the curriculum field, like Silva (2002), and in the field of adult education, like Freire (1987, 1996, 2000, 2001) and Brasil (2000), Oliveira (2001); Pinto (2005) and Smith (200 1). It is also noted that this text is part of a broader theoretical study, wich a deep study will involve empirical research, conducted by a group of researchers from the Brazilian state of Alagoas, and linked to a research group in the field of Youth and Adults. The relevance of this research is the fact that it will allow the redefinition of the specificity of the pedagogic Professor of Youth and Adults, who needs to recognize their student, working students, as individuals who need to take ownership of socially constructed knowledge.
