This research report focuses on teacher's formation in early childhood education. The research problem lies in knowing the role of initial formation in the reconstruction process of these professional identities, investigating the function of this formation in the reconstruction of social representations of children education's future teachers about their profession. We used a qualitative approach, whose theoretical and methodological framework was based on Moscovici(2009)'s Theory of Social Representations . We collected data through the application of questionnaires to 46 concluding student of a undergraduate program of Pedagogy in a private university in the state of Sao Paolo. Among them, we selected 5 students to participate in half-structured interviews. The collected data were analyzed based on the identification of the following categories: teacher identity, conception of teacher and challenge of teacher's formation. The results indicated the recognition of the early childhood's teacher as a professional, with specific knowledge for its actions and, therefore, who needs to be professionally and socially recognized by the importance of its function.
