Abstract

SOLANO, Cleonice Halfeld  and  COSTA, Amanda Cristina Bastos. O processo de constituição do Estado Brasileiro: implicações para a gestão escolar. Revista da FAAEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2012, vol.21, n.38, pp.19-28. ISSN 0104-7043.

The present study attempts to understand the process of constitution of the Brazilian State, its articulations and implications for contemporary society, specifically educational administration. To support the discussions, we seek support in the epistemological framework of historical materialism, through bibliographical studies of authors of this theory. We understand that the inclusion of the Brazilian State under capitalism was accomplished in a subordinate and dependent way towards international capital. In this regard, the consequences and particularities of this process are materialized in the educational setting, where the proposals of school administration are emphasized as a mechanism to search for efficiency, greater autonomy and improvement of education quality. However, we observed that the underlying assumptions of he school administration, after the State reform of the 1990s, reduced the problems of public school to a technicality, proclaim a so called participation and do not enhance the strengthening of the struggle to overcome t dominant values. We conclude to a close similarity between the process of the Brazilian State establishment and the school administration current outlook.
