ISSN 0104-7043.

This article discusses the thought of the Hungarian philosopher György Lukács on the centrality of work and its teleological aspects, pointing out the ontological genesis of education as human formation and its development in the field of secondary teleology through which estrangement can be constituted and/or overcome. This subject is discussed at his work Ontology of Social Being, in which he develops the central categories of man as a social being. According to Lukács, the social network of human life is a result of men’s establishment and execution of teleological positions, which results often are often out of control and will, as in a second nature. This occurs mainly when the path or the result of the process of this transformation becomes estrangement. Nevertheless, even in front of unexpected results (man is always executing teleological positions under penalty of failure), Lukács says there is no contraposition between teleology and causality, but a reciprocal and operant connection. That leads us to freedom of choice and of searches to find solutions to the hung-ups considering the explicitness of the human being that is expressed as estrangement. Overcoming it demands mediation in education in an ethical dimension.
