This literature search aims to contribute to the discussion of the guiding principles of qualitative research. With this move, we bring some scientific knowledge considerations, which are considered as a historical construction, and we emphasize the philosophical foundations of qualitative research and its guiding principles according to studies into this methodological approach. The results of this literature search highlights Phenomenology and Dialectic as the main foundations of qualitative research.
