This article reflects on learning related to nine Math teachers´ professional knowledge, in the context of a continuing education experience of a Community of Practice (Cop- MatAnosIniciais). It analyses the moments of collective discussions of this CoP and it tries to understand how these teachers engage in enterprise the report action and the report analysis of the tasks development in the classroom in pursuit of rethinking their teaching practices of mathematics.  This CoP was coordinated by the first author, and the data were collected by audio recordings of the training sessions and written records of the teachers and the researcher. The data analysis revealed what became the focal point in the negotiation processes of the CoP, named: students’ performance in solving mathematical tasks; the different types of questions created by the teacher during the application of tasks of high level cognitive demand; the students´ time management to solve tasks. The dynamic performed in this continuing education experiment revealed components of this community of practice that allowed the teachers’ learning.
