This article is part of a research study - "The Fabric of Knowledge via Digital Media and Social Networks: itinerancies of multi-referential research training" carried out in 2011 - that investigated how instructors are using digital media networks. The study drew upon the approaches of multi-referential research training (Ardoino, Macedo and Santos), studies concerning the in/of/with of everyday life (Certeau, Alves), studies of cyberculture (Lévy, Lemos, Santaella, Santos) and online education (Santos, Silva). It developed out of a research training experience undertaken with teachers who were enrolled in a Computing in Education course, a specialization course in Education and Applied Computer Science (Edai) offered by the Faculty of Education of the University of Rio de Janeiro State (UERJ). The methodology was based on conversations in the classroom, online exchanges in the Moodle environment using the WebQuest interactive format, and immersion in Internet media and social networks (Orkut, Twitter, YouTube, Blogger). The following conclusions were reached: a) digital networks enhance and promote other "spaces-times" ("espaçostempos") of learning and training, providing authorial and collaborative "dos-and-know-how-todos" ("fazeressaberesfazeres"); b) educational networks are woven "inside-outside" ("dentrofora") of cyberspace, schools and other multi-referential spaces; c) it is necessary to articulate proposals for training in schools, universities and in cyberspace.
