Abstract

FARIA, Ângela Maria dos Santos  and  LIMA, Denise Maria Soares. Ontogeny of an innovative project for youth and adult distance education. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.44, pp.211-219. ISSN 0104-7043.  https://doi.org/10.2015/jul.dez.v24n44.0015.

This article describes the actions that mobilized a group of teachers and managers to add a Distance Education component to the Youth and Adult Education (YAE) program offered by the Federal District's public education system. Initially known as Education Without Borders, the project was launched on June 24th, 2005. Since its inception, many partnerships have been formed; others have been restructured, as reflected in the speeches given by pioneering teachers who remain in activity to this day. Such narratives were analyzed along the lines of Bardin (2009), whose qualitative framework constitutes ongoing research. Preliminary results indicate a remarkable collective component that proposes discussions, engages in voting, and deliberates in accordance with majority decisions. Ten years later, even with the overhaul of its pioneering group - due to retirements and redeployments - the team has managed to maintain its initial motivation, ensuring the permanent accessibility and organizational efficiency of Distance Education for young people and adults.

Keywords : Youth and Adult Distance Education; Teaching Activity; Pioneering Narratives.
