The end of high school is a time of difficult transition to adulthood. In order to understand how different spheres of socialization influence in this crucial phase of decision making and planning towards the future, for this research we selected students from four public schools in Minas Gerais, two of them located in Belo Horizonte, the other two in Mariana. The selected methodology was qualitative and the techniques used were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire aimed to identify trends and make a descriptive outlook of young graduates and their families. The interviews contributed to an analysis of everyday reality and intergenerational transfers between grandparents, parents and young people. Thus, this research discusses how different generations present in the same domestic space facing the entrance in the labor market, as they build their strategies and plans to the future, and how they relate to other spheres of socialization.
