The quilombola people have a long history of struggle for a quality education, especially the peoples of the Northeastern Semiarid. Thus, from normative devices and from the struggle of social movements, there was a great advance in the creation of several public policies, with emphasis on educational programs aimed at valuing socio-cultural diversity in the field. Knowing this, the present research aimed to analyze the relations and contributions of socio-political aspects in the construction of an emancipatory education in quilombola communities inserted in the context of the Northeastern Semi-arid. Methodological procedures such as direct observations, semi-structured interviews, focal groups, cross-walks, photographic records, among others, were used, with subsequent triangulation of the data, with an exploratory and ethnographic basis. It was verified that the educational processes show the differential in the empowerment and decision-making regarding the reaffirmation of an alterity to which they are daily resignificando in the fight for the valorization quilombola. Thus, it is assumed that public actions to strengthen the cultural and immaterial heritage of these social groups will not be implemented solely by the existence of specific legislation for quilombola school education, but they depend much more on the joint and integrated effort of the quilombola collectives in the quest for Respect for the quilombola ethos in the elaboration of pedagogical activities that respect local specificities and perpetuate the cultural elements that build the ethnic identity of each community.
