Abstract

ESTEVES, Pâmela Suélli da Motta; GOMES, Ingrid de Faria  and  GUEDES, Julia Wassermann. Justice at school: intercultural education approach to school conflict in childhood. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.51, pp.179-191. ISSN 0104-7043.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2018.v27.n51.p179-191.

This paper focuses on reflecting about potential conflicts that are present in the school routine in childhood, by the eyes of critical interculturalism. According to Andrade (2011), Candau (2007, 2012, 2014), Tubino (2004), and other authors, we believe in critical intercultural education as a way of investigating school conflicts through the perspective of restorative justice and fair school (SCHILLING, 2014), in opposition to the judicialization of these conflicts, what has been done in Brazilian basic schools. The paper brings on theoretical understanding about the conflicts that come up inside schools, through a pedagogical practice called “message box”, which is used to manage and transform conflicts into learning moments.

Keywords : Interculturalism; School Conflicts; Childhood; Restorative Justice; Judicialization.
