To achieve the objectives listed, documentary research protocols and forms for collecting information and reports were used. The latter were applied to teachers, as in the exploratory phase of the research, and young people with sickle cell disease, registered in multi referential clinic Avenue Carlos Gomes. The results of the bibliographic and documentary survey highlight the need for research that communicate between the areas addressed, given the socioacademic relevant to the study, in a scarce scientific production scenario.
