REIS, Daniela Santana  e  LEIRO, Augusto Cesar Rios. Interfaces between education and health: processes of schooling of “soteropolitanos” youth with falciform diseases. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.51, pp.195-212. ISSN 0104-7043.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2018.v27.n51.p195-212.

From the intersection between education and health, developed the study of multidisciplinary, aiming to raise the research conducted in the state of Bahia on chronic diseases, notably the Falciform Diseases; in addition to showing the youth education profile the “soteropolitanos” with pathology; finally, to describe their perceptions and scholastic expectations. Therefore, methodologically, this text, results from a survey of qualitative and quantitative natures, of exploratory and descriptive types. To achieve the objectives listed, documentary research protocols and forms for collecting information and reports were used. The latter were applied to teachers, as in the exploratory phase of the research, and young people with sickle cell disease, registered in multi referential clinic Avenue Carlos Gomes. The results of the bibliographic and documentary survey highlight the need for research that communicate between the areas addressed, given the socioacademic relevant to the study, in a scarce scientific production scenario. The information formed points to the (lack of) knowledge from the teacher, as to the pathology, the differences regarding the pedagogical approach, and the hope of the young people about the possibilities of making teaching a perspective that contemplates diversity.
