Advancing theoretical and methodological perspectives to innovate the foundations of sustainable development poses challenges by linking learning strategies, agency capacity and combining creative processes and ecodevelopment principles. The objective of this study is to evaluate changes in practices in the individual consciousness raising associated with socioenvironmental issues in ecossocioeconomic experiences in handicraft activities in a socioproductive arrangement represented by an urban fair in Curitiba. The research is qualitative and uses narratives for data collection and empirical information. The results indicate the possibility of expanding the theoretical-conceptual basis of the ecossocioeconomy by associating it with expansive learning; craftsmanship contributes to the commitment of the subject to the socio-environmental context; the urban fairs are privileged locus for the emergence of expansive learning cycles and raise the artistic potential and value of handicrafts.
