GOBBO, Giovanna Del; NUNES, Eduardo José Fernandes  and  MORAIS, Anaie Leite Silva. CIRCLE OF STUDIES, OBSERVATORY OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM: CONTRIBUTIONS OF PARTICIPATORY METODOLOGIES FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.52, pp.60-71.  Epub July 02, 2019. ISSN 0104-7043.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2018.v27.n52.p60-71.

This paper discusses participatory educational methodologies in two countries, Italy and Brazil, articulated with theories on local development. Both the Circle of Studies project in Italy and the Youth and Adult Education Observatory of the Sisal (OBEJA) Identity Territory and the Community Based Tourism (TBC) in Bahia, Brazil, use methodologies that integrate social local intervention strategies, with the principles of a dialogue with sustainability, public action, and citizen action. In Italy, the University of Florence, in partnership with the Center of Vocational Education in the city of Gorizia, with funding from the European Union, developed Circle of Studies with different local social agents seeking local development strategies; In Brazil, in the Sisal region and in the City of Salvador, respectively, OBEJA and TBC interventions in Popular Neighborhoods, where the State University of Bahia is inserted, rekindles perspectives also for new local development projects. These excerpts will be analyzed from their methodological approaches and their actions to recover the knowledge of social groups and their possibility to create their own ways.
