Abstract

CAVALCANTI, Fernanda Carvalho  and  GURGEL, Paulo Roberto Holanda. STATE OF KNOLEDGE ON GENDER ISSUES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.53, pp.203-219.  Epub July 04, 2019. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2018.v27.n53.p203-219.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the studies carried out on gender issues in Early Childhood Education, during the period from 2010 to 2015. Theses and dissertations were analyzed and organized into four different categories: gender and representations and discourses of male and female teachers in Early Childhood Education; gender and male teachers in Early Childhood Education; gender and the education of boys and girls in Early Childhood Education; gender associated with the embellishment on Early Childhood Education. The sources used were research reports available on the database of theses and dissertations of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes). According to the criteria, 20 works were selected: four theses and sixteen dissertations. The analyses indicate a lack of research on the subject in addition to the need for special attention at the training of teachers, as well as the formulation of public policies for overcoming inequality and gender stereotypes in the field of Early Childhood Education.
