There are many motivations for traveling: discovering only imagined places, experiencing unusual experiences, strengthening ties or finding new interlocutors, for example. Like so many other travelers, educators also have their reasons for crossing distances, meeting and getting to know each other. There are also many ways to peer travel educators. They all require understanding the subject who travels, the context of the crossing, the destination chosen, the established networks and the repercussions of it. his is the exercise that we intend to carry out in this text that stops on the journey of the catholic educator Laura Jacobina Lacombe to Locarno, Switzerland, in 1927, when she represented the Brazilian Association of Education (ABE) at the IV Congrès International d’Education Nouvelle, to propagate the principles of modern education and, in particular, the theme of freedom that amalgamated the central concerns. To do so, we chose as the guiding thread the report that he presented on his return from the trip, which acts as a testimony of the visa and lived, allowing to interpret the importance of his participation in the dialogue that was instituted between brazilian and foreign educators who gravitated around the Institut Jean-Jacques Rousseau and that has unfolded in new trips and exchanges on the pedagogical models under construction.
