Abstract

MENDES, Maria da Conceição Barbosa; MANUEL, Tuca  and  CARVALHO, Isabel Maria Romero Fernandez de. HIGHER EDUCATION MANAGEMENT IN ANGOLA: ACCESS PRACTICES AND LOGICS. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.55, pp.58-69.  Epub Oct 14, 2020. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2019.v28.n55.p58-69.

This paper synthesizes reflections on the management of Higher Education (ES) in Angola, scrutinizing the practices and logic inherent in access. The entrance exams are brought to the stage, discussing their configurations as a management problem, and the tendency of disarticulation between them and the candidates’ profile. The interpretation of the Basic Law of the Education and Teaching System (LBSEE) and the General Regulation of Access to Higher Education constituted a fundamental methodological procedure, allowing to assess the relation between the referent and the referred, in terms of the exit profile and input. The identification of disarticulation between the General and Higher Education, regarding the exit profiles and the fulfillment of the pedagogical objectives, constitutes the main result of the study, based on which some alternatives were presented.
