Resumen

MACHADO, Tadeu Lopes. “WE ARE NOT RESEARCH OBJECTS”: IN SEARCH OF A COLLABORATIVE ANTHROPOLOGY. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.56, pp.44-55.  Epub 14-Oct-2020. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2019.v28.n56.p44-55.

This article seeks to develop a critical reflection on the way anthropology develops its knowledge and establishes its methodological basis, but it also seeks to point out some mechanisms for overcoming the methodological model we inherited from the anthropological tradition. Therefore, a dialogue is held with ethnographic strategies that stand as dissonant voices of the conventional methodological and epistemological conception. The work will describe a personal experience recently observed with the indigenous peoples of Oiapoque (AP), that during a movement of demand for improvements and offer of specific places and different entry in the entrance exam of the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP), pointed to the need to break with the colonizing gaze of white researchers who, according to the indigenous people, “see these ethnic groups as mere objects of their research”. At the end we point out the need to build a collaborative, intersubjective anthropological research aimed at meeting the desires of the people with whom we perform our work.

Palabras clave : Anthropology; Methodology; Decolonization of knowledge; Epistemology.
