Abstract

(UFPI), Maria Escolástica de Moura Santos  and  (UFPI), Pedro Pereira dos Santos. SCHOOL WITHOUT PARTY: NEOLIBERALISM AND CONSERVATISM HOLDING HANDS. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.58, pp.32-47.  Epub Dec 15, 2020. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2020.v29.n58.p32-47.

In this article, we discuss the School in Party (ESP) movement, placing it in the context of the structural crisis of capital, in order to unveil the ideologies contained in its content. We seek to explain the moment when the discourse and ultra-conservative activism gains strength, as well as their relationship with neoliberal logic. It is not by chance that the discourse that defends the family, the religious values, the attack on the sciences, is the same that defends the policies of fiscal austerity, the expansion of the scope of action of the private initiative and the withdrawal of rights of the working class, that is to say, privatization and the minimum state. Therefore, it is necessary to understand that School without Party presents itself as an instrument of social control of the bourgeoisie, which uses education as a strong ally in the process of manipulating individuals, aiming at maintaining the ongoing corporate project.

Keywords : School without a party; Structural crisis of capital; Neoliberalism; Conservatism.
