Abstract

ALMEIDA, Natália Frizzo de. THE COMMEMORATION OF PEDAGOGICAL VANGUARDS OF SECONDARY EDUCATION IN SÃO PAULO IN THE 1960S: RECONSTRUCTING THE PAST TO CREATE THE FUTURE. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.59, pp.110-128.  Epub July 19, 2021. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2020.v29.n59.p110-128.

The commemorative editions were produced in the 1990s and 2000s, as a result of meetings of associations of alumni from three renovated high schools of the 1960s. In the celebrations, the former students/editors called the “educational renovation” as a “pedagogical vanguard”. The objective is to compare the speeches of the commemorative books/articles and understand the motivations to transform, the reunion of former classmates, in disseminating their past school experiences to a wider audience. The methodological contribution was based on the debates of history, memory and commemoration and we start from the theoretical premise that the event celebrated always aims at its becoming. The recovery of these memories proposed the resumption of the expansion of renewed teaching, whose project had been defeated in the 1960s with the establishment of the Military Regime.

Keywords : econdary education; Pedagogical renewal; Celebration.
