Abstract

HAMMES, Lúcio Jorge; ZITKOSKI, Jaime José  and  HAMMES, Itamar Luís. INTERDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVES ON EDUCATION FROM HABERMAS, FREIRE AND SANTOS. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.60, pp.268-286.  Epub Aug 24, 2021. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2020.v29.n60.p268-286.

The article aims to discuss the central problems that contemporary education faces in relation to the formative processes, such as: the profile of the graduates of the courses in relation to the needs and demands of society, the urgency of an interdisciplinary knowledge and the ethical and social responsibility. The methodology consists of a bibliographical study through the hermeneutics of texts. The core concepts that help theoretical support for this study, include the themes of Interdisciplinarity, the Crisis of paradigms and the Alternatives for the future in society. Habermas, Freire and Santos are the three authors who base the horizon on the critical reflection on the theme and inspire us in the search for the foundations for a future education. The aim is to build a new model of cultural formation that overcomes the deepest problems in the world today, such as alienation, social exclusion, the trivialization of violence and the current ethical crisis.

Keywords : Ethical-environmental crisis; Interdisciplinarity; Education; New paradigms.
