SILVA, Maria Beatriz Vasconcelos  and  VIEIRA, Lívia Fraga. SCHOOL FREQUENCY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: PERCEPTIONS OF FAMILIES AND EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.60, pp.287-307.  Epub Aug 24, 2021. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2020.v29.n60.p287-307.

In a survey conducted in 2016 and 2017, it was intended to know the reasons, the influencing factors and the justifications for the infrequency of children in early childhood education, from the perspective of families and education professionals in the context of three Municipal Schools of Early Childhood Education. Education of Belo Horizonte / MG, chosen according to the Municipal Human Development Index of the neighborhood. The class diaries of the classes were analyzed and 233 questionnaires were applied to family members, which were also interviewed together with the education professionals (principals, coordinators, teachers and educational technique). It was found that the main reason for the infrequency is the child's illness. Impairing factors related to housing conditions, employment, and the constitution of families (headed by women, teenage mothers) were also found, showing that school attendance is higher among children living in socially vulnerable situations.
