This paper discusses the relationship between Field Education, Territory and the school of/on the island, aiming to present the trajectory, discussions and results of a study carried out in the context of Field Education, inside a traditional community in the municipality of Guaraqueçaba on the Parana coast. The theoretical methodological development of the research is based on the knowledge dialectics and uses techniques and procedures included in the methodological focus of the ethnographic research, through participant observation, recording in a field diary, photography, questionnaires, interviews and a documental study to produce data and seek, in the situation analysis, the necessary input to unveil the reality. The research main results pointed out that the contributions of the academic production on Field Education are widespread and it is necessary to advance with the processes developed by the school within the communities. Although education practices already seek to articulate culture, work as a way of life and the territory, there is still some room to intensify and deepen these issues, which are considered essential in the struggle for the field school of/on the island. The research led us to conclude that it is vital that the subjects involved in the relationship school, community and territory seek strategies of approximation and rupture of the otherness borders, with the purpose of advancing as an emancipatory education project.
