Abstract

GOMES, Josias  and  JESUS, Rodrigo. CONSIDERING THE EDITORIAL QUILOMBOS, IS IT POSSIBLE TO SPEAK OF “AFRO-BRAZILIAN ILLUSTRATION”?. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.62, pp.135-151.  Epub Dec 16, 2021. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2021.v30.n62.p135-151.

This article presents excerpts from the ongoing research that aims to build a discussion about illustration in editorial production understood as Afro-Brazilian literature (book). Based on the questioning of Imaginary, Literature, Education and Visual Arts, mainly, we asked about the classification of Afro-Brazilian illustrations in the collection of Editorial Quilombos (RODRIGUES; OLIVEIRA, 2017). We take as an initial theoretical foundation, in order to build arguments to challenge the illustration and, also, the artist's action in doing so, the concept of identities (HALL, 2001), between-places and performativity (BHABHA, 1998), imaginary (CASTORIADIS, 1982), memory (TEDESCO, 2014), Afro-Brazilian Art (CONDURU, 2007), collections as violated files (MELENDI, 2015), image analysis including the technique, composition, poetics and the possibilities of fruition from visual, political and imaginary discourses of the artist (BLEIKER, 2015). With the objective of identifying and verifying the illustrations in the main publications of the collection of the selected publishers.

Keywords : literary illustration; Editorial Quilombos; heteroidentification; collection.
