QUIRINO, Gisele Dias  y  LIMA NETO, Avelino Aldo de. THE MULHERES MIL PROGRAM AT THE IFRN CANGUARETAMA CAMPUS: SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL ANALYSIS. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.63, pp.270-289.  Epub 09-Mar-2022. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2021.v30.n63.p270-289.

The Mulheres Mil Program (PMM) is a national public policy whose scope is the professional training of women in situations of social vulnerability. This article is a case study aimed at identifying the socioeconomic profile of applicants enrolled in PMM courses at the Canguaretama Campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) from 2016 to 2019. The text aims to present the historical context of formation and consolidation of the PMM; understand its relationship as a public policy and the YAE in the context of Vocational Education; and, finally, reflect introductory about the relationship between gender and vulnerability, based on the profile of students. The results showed that the Program mostly attends women coming from rural areas, between 20 and 34 years old, married or single, with children and family income of up to 1 minimum wage. Most of them receive social benefits as their only income. In comparison to other studies, we conclude that the students are marked by the consequences of the sexual division of labor and an ineffective policy for Youth and Adult Education.
