GONCALVES, Marluce Torquato Lima  and  NUNES, João Batista Carvalho. LEARNING ANALYTICS APPLIED TO DISTANCE INITIAL TRAINING FOR PEDAGOGUES IN THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AREA. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.65, pp.338-354.  Epub Oct 25, 2022. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2022.v31.n65.p338-354.

Learning analytics is a research field still in the early stage in Latin America, including Brazil. The article establishes a predictive model, based on the learning analytics, which helps to monitor the students’ performance in the distance learning degree in Pedagogy, at a university located in the State of Ceará (Brazil) and participating of the UAB System, with regard to training in school management. The statistical method was adopted, by applying the multinomial logistic regression technique to action categories carried out in Moodle by 274 students in two disciplines in the school management area, distributed in seven centers. The results showed action categories that directly interfere in the student’s performance, whether to approve, fail for grade or fail for missing classes, revealing the need for changes in the course design.
