The objective of the study was to investigate Brazilian research on storytelling using Amplified and Alternative Communication (CAA) as a pedagogical resource for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) between the years 2015 and 2021. The studies were selected on Google Academic, CAPES and SciELO platforms, with the descriptors TEA and storytelling; CAA, ASD and storytelling; Alternative communication and autism. The research was qualitative analysis, with literature review. All selected studies reported positive results in communication with children in ASD from the use of CAA in storytelling. It was concluded that the number of research on the subjects is scared and recent and most in the area of health, evidencing the need for greater investments in alternative teaching methodologies for ASD students and encouraging academic productions in the education area.
