BRITO, Lidiane Rodrigues  y  RIBEIRO, Maria Clara Maciel de Araújo. CONTRIBUTION OF STORYTELLING IN BRAZILIAN SIGN LANGUAGE (BSL) FOR DEATH PEOPLE EDUCATION. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.68, pp.181-199.  Epub 13-Ene-2023. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2022.v31.n68.p181-199.

This study discusses the contributions of storytelling in Brazilian Sign Language for death people education at an elementary school. In order to do so, it exploits the potential of cognitive, linguistic and cultural development provided by storytelling, supported by Applied Linguistics and studies concerning the Death allied with three videos from storytellers available on channels of YouTube; presenting at the end, teaching possibilities for usage in the classroom. The results suggest that when death children immerse in the stories told in sign languages, they get in contact with aspects that allow global development, even without the storyteller teacher’s intentionality being presented.

Palabras clave : storytelling; brazilian sign language (BSL); death education.
