Abstract

DADICO, Luciana. SCHOOL-RELATED GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE: A CRITICAL THEORY APPROACH. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.69, pp.78-89.  Epub Aug 17, 2023. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2023.v32.n69.p78-89.

Considering that gender violence participates in different forms of school violence, this essay is dedicated to a discussion about both the specificities of gender violence, and the way in which this kind of violence participates in school relationships. From a Critical Theory perspective, students, teachers and scholar crew play an important role to mediate social violence and school violence, preventing, producing and/or reproducing gender violence in school spaces. In dialogue with previous studies on bullying and prejudice, as known forms of school violence, I analyze some of the psychosocial aspects involved in gender violence. This task involves a necessary critique of the ideological representations of gender and their controlling images. I hope, with these reflections, to contribute to a better understanding of school-related genderbased violence and its field of study.

Keywords : School-Related Violence; Gender; Bullying; Prejudice; Critical Theory of Society.
