Abstract

This text is one of the developments of the studies regarding teachers continued education and is being carried out by the Teacher, History and Gender Study Group of USP's Teachers' College (GEDOMGEFEUSP). It seeks to conciliate research, teaching and community services. It a previous text (Bueno, Sousa, Catani and Souza, 1993), an attempt was made to spell out some fundamentals (or a proposal that favors crossing information on themes regarding teacher, history and gender while using an autobiographical approach regarding intellectual formation as well as searching for alternatives to construct formation practices. The objective here is to present part of the research conducted in order to continue the earlier study with the intention of examining possible distinctive feminine memories in choosing a profession and in teaching, assuming that these are issues studied in this area and considering that they are represented in the autobiographical accounts of the teachers with whom they have been working.
