Abstract

In order to furnish more adequate learning, the importance of a curriculum which contains cultural and democratic content in the classroom is discussed. To elaborate a curriculum proposal teachers must participate in the reflection about the citizen and the society they want to build. Teachers must offer student sections of reality to analyze and get to know, keeping them attentive and fomenting provoking in them a critical spirit towards the reality in which they live. Elements necessary for curriculum development are discussed having in mind cultural diversity and democracy within the classroom.
