In order to demonstrate the perceptions of youth with regard to the present political system, the author bases her article on a research carried out aver five years with youth in the 18 to 25 age group. How do the representations of the political system present themselves to youth today: new or different? It is asked if current habits and behaviors are being substituted by demands and practices that are common to this generation. Thirty detailed interviews were made in which youngsters told fragments of life stories, the diversity of the course of their social and family histories and the conditions of their political socialization as well as the methods used to structure their political identity. The analysis of the data is presented in the article.
