This article analyses the systems of representation of teachers, elected to participate as delegates in the Working Group on Teacher Formation and Valorisation during the Seminar on Educational Policy held in the State of Espírito Santo, to discuss the processes of continuing formation developed by the State Secretariat of Education. It uses in its analytical framework the categories of non-place, place, space-times and shared communities, based on works of Lefebvre (1983), Augé (1994), Certeau (2001), and Santos (2000), among others. The methodology is based on data collection by means of questionnaires including open and closed questions. The results indicate that the teachers' system of representation points to the need to install processes of continuing formation directed towards the "utopia" of constituting a school collective that surpasses, by means of shared communities, the non-place occupied by the teachers up until now.
