Abstract

CASSOL, Claudionei Vicente. AMBIVALENCE, SOLIDARITY AND EDUCATION: BETWEEN THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE SOCIAL. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2020, vol.25, e250001.  Epub Feb 20, 2020. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782019250001.

Thinking of education as an individual action and a welcoming and solidarity attitude, taking the thought of Zygmunt Bauman as the central theoretical basis, is the fundamental concern of this essay. In the first moment, thematization develops in order to demonstrate the existence of an ambivalent paradigm that, installed in liquid modernity, is strengthened by the pluralizing hermeneutics. In the second, by giving the possibility of ambivalence feasibility, both in the concrete and in the symbolic world, the need and alternative of solidarity in educational action is debated. The understanding of education for/with solidarity, from the horizon of the human condition, is potentiality and an instituting alternative. Thus, we highlight the idea of the educational act as a possible event in the relationship between humans, constituting an attitude based on subjectivities and scaling for collective experiences. The paradigm of ambivalence thus allows one to think and question the plurality of understandings that depart from the single and determining truths.

Keywords : education; solidarity; ambivalence.
