Abstract

MONTEIRO, Marcos Vinicius Pereira  and  SIQUEIRA, Vera Helena Ferraz de. TRANSFORMING EXPERIENCES INTO DEMANDS: INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THE ACADEMIC CENTER AND THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION SCHOOL AT UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO RIO DE JANEIRO. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.26, e260031.  Epub Apr 27, 2021. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782021260031.

Based on interviews with students and professors from the Physical Education teacher certification course at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and an initiative of its Academic Center and Physical Education, the present article highlights perspectives that emphasize the contribution of the latter to the formative processes, as well as addresses perceived gaps regarding the training offered in the course. Starting with a brief discussion about the role of academic centers in the political education of students and supported by the results obtained, the relevance of taking on the pedagogical political dimension of education and contemplating the experiences of students in extracurricular instances in the formal curriculum, such as those offered by academic centers is pointed out. These experiences can anchor content, granting proper relevance and providing the formation of professors who recognize that the teaching practice goes far beyond just conveying content.
