Abstract

GODOI, Marcos Roberto  and  BORGES, Cecilia Maria Ferreira. THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES AT MATTER: DIFFERENT REASONS AND WAYS OF ACTING BY TEACHERS. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.26, e260093.  Epub Dec 15, 2021. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782021260093.

Anchored in the work analysis approach of the activity clinic, this article examines the temporal and spatial organization of classes by teachers in Physical Education. In this multi-case qualitative study, observation and filming of the classes were carried out. Then, the teachers watched the videos and analyzed their work and that of their peers using the simple and crossed self-confrontation method. The characteristics of the school context, the pedagogical interaction with students and the teachers’ conceptions about classes influence their reasons and ways of acting in relation to the organization and use of time and space. Teachers also develop a series of teaching strategies to optimize and streamline the teaching and learning process. The temporal and spatial organization of classes and the teaching strategies of teachers are part of the knowledge of pedagogical action and contribute to the search for effectiveness in teaching.
