Abstract

ALMEIDA, Andréa Cristina de; SAMUSSONE, Lainesse Benjamim; BRUNOZI JUNIOR, Antonio Carlos  and  EMMENDOERFER, Magnus Luiz. EDUCATIONAL POLICIES: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY ON THE ROLE OF SCIENTIFIC OLYMPIADS UNDER A MULTILEVEL ANALYSIS. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e270021.  Epub Feb 24, 2022. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782022270021.

Several countries, such as Germany, Brazil, Colombia, United States of America, Estonia, Indonesia, Philippines, Czech Republic, Iran, and Mexico, have been promoting scientific olympiads as a way of enhancing the quality of education. Nonetheless, there are few systematized works on scientific olympiads worldwide. Thus, this study aimed to assess the global scientific production about the role of the olympiads and their public policy character, in addition to promoting a discussion on the implications of federalism on educational policies in Brazil. To do so, a bibliometric study was carried out, considering the digital platform Web of Science as the database. The results showed a rising trend in research approaching scientific olympiads, with the USA leading the number of studies in the field.

Keywords : education; federalism; educational policies; scientific olympiads.
