Abstract

MARTINEZ-VEREZ, María Victoria; MONTERO-SEOANE, Antonio; ALBAR-MANSOA, Pedro Javier  and  GARCIA, Sonia Cabello. THE TERRITORY OF MEMORY: A CITIZEN CARTOGRAPHY OF MEMORIES. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e270041.  Epub May 13, 2022. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782022270041.

Action research gives shape to the project “The Voice of the Hours”, carried out by four schools located in the province of La Coruña, with the aim of drawing a kairos map. To do this, the schoolchildren analyzed the intensity of the passage of time. Once the action of memory was understood, they participated in the exploration of memory by requesting from people belonging to five generations stories from their own biography. At the procedural level, a questionnaire associated with a quick response code was generated, which, after being attached to a symbol, was used as an exploratory instrument, as it was distributed in the urban space. In response, 256 personal memories were obtained, which were analyzed using the qualitative panel technique, called “cohort” and aimed at learning the story of the action, in the voice of the protagonists. Finally, the cartographic results were represented in a participatory artistic installation.

Keywords : memory; territory; art education; social geography; citizen participation.
