Abstract

PONCE, Hugo Heredia; OLIVA, Manuel Francisco Romero  and  GONZALEZ, Carlos Gil. TECHNOLOGIES APPLIED TO EDUCATION: THE USE OF THE BOOKTUBER FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ORAL EXPRESSION. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e270057.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782022270057.

The article is inserted in the area of education, specifically in the field of literacy, reading and writing. It aims to analyse how technology applied to education, through the booktuber, can become a strategy to improve students’ oral expression and their critical interpretation of reality. A quasi-experimental pretest-postest design methodology was used, with a sample of 44 students in 6th grade of Primary Education from an educational centre of Cadiz (Spain), divided into a control and an experimental group. The implementation was carried out in nine sessions to work on orality first and then, through the creation of a booktuber. Questionnaires were used to analyse the context of both groups, a rubric to evaluate their oral expression and a questionnaire to evaluate the success and acceptance of the booktuber. Significant differences between the two groups were shown, which justifies the validity of the booktuber.

Keywords : technologies; booktuber; oral communication; quasi-experimental.
