In view of the need to develop qualitative studies that can support decision-making in the educational field and as a way to promote the development of consistent theoretical research in the field of Education, this article presents meta-synthesis, a qualitative systematic review modality that consists of a complex and delicate process of interpretative integration of the results of primary qualitative studies, reaching a level of comprehensive and deep theoretical understanding. The article describes the concept and steps for performing meta-syntheses and presents contributions developed by the authors in order to facilitate the organization and synthesis of data in meta-syntheses, collaborating to carry out consistent and quality literature reviews, in accordance with the assumptions of qualitative research in Education.
