Abstract

RAMOS, Eliane de Souza  and  LANUTI, José Eduardo de Oliveira Evangelista. “PERSON WITH DISABILITY” AND “PERSON WITHOUT DISABILITY” IN THE SCHOOL FOR ALL: AN INVITATION TO SUSPEND. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.28, e280104.  Epub Oct 20, 2023. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782023280104.

The expressions “person with disabilities” and “person without disabilities” have been used in regular schooling to identify students. A school for all is one that considers the difference and singularity of each student, and that does not resort to categories that make them inferior to represent them. We consider the Specialized Educational Assistance essential in the study of inaccessible situations that have justified the imposition of disability to some students. We propose in this article the committed and conscious use of legal documents that categorize students who are the target audience of Special Education, in order to ensure each of them the right to Education. However, we suggest that the common school suspend categories when planning and developing educational and pedagogical work. With this, there would be, even if momentarily, a transfer of the «disability» attributed to students to the inaccessible situations that affect them.

Keywords : scholar inclusion; school for all; disability; difference; singularity.
