Teachers’ representations of science teaching reflect their didactic perspectives. Exploring and understanding these representations is of pedagogical interest since they reveal the mental configurations of Peruvian teachers regarding science in education. A semantic analysis of the associations between "didactics" and "science" was carried out to construct a representation of the didactics of science education. The results showed emergent representational structures that reflect pedagogical ideas and experiences. These representations are expressed through common sense knowledge, which allows understanding the diversity of didactic approaches. Relational, cultural, inquiry and instrumental representations were identified.
