HEIDELMANN, Stephany Petronilho  e  CANDAU, Vera Maria Ferrão. Formative trajectory of black women in a teacher training course: experiences and challenges. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2024, vol.29, e290096.  Epub 03-Out-2024. ISSN 1809-449X.  https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782024290096.

This article aims to analyse how gender, race and class are articulated to build the insertions, experiences and identities of black women in the academic field. Therefore, this study was built from the application of 28 semi-structured questionnaires and 15 individual interviews with students and graduates of the Degree in Chemistry of the Instituto Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Duque de Caxias campus. This study links Pierre Bourdieu’s concepts with studies of black authors such as Djamila Ribeiro, Carla Akotirene and Silvio Almeida. The results not only highlight the devices mobilized by the participants for their permanence and success in the course, but also present other discussions about the construction of relationships in the academic field and the overcoming of the symbolic violence in their academic trajectories.
