PENTEADO, Regina Zanella e SOUZA NETO, Samuel de. Teaching expressivity: a dialogue between the contributions of Pierre Bourdieu and Walter Benjamin. Rev. Bras. Educ. [online]. 2025, vol.30, e300116. Epub 13-Nov-2025. ISSN 1809-449X. https://doi.org/10.1590/s1413-24782025300116.
This work aimed to resize the notion of teaching expressiveness (TE) in dialogue with contributions from Pierre Bourdieu and Walter Benjamin. This is an essay organized in parts: Bourdieusian and Benjaminian theoretical-conceptual contributions; and the legacy of these authors for the issue of teaching expressiveness. The contributions are useful in attributing to TE a scope that contributes to the appreciation and strengthening of school teachers; to the analysis of teaching practices and reflection on teaching work processes and teacher education; and to interactions in intergenerational meetings, with a view to building a culture of collaboration. It was concluded that TE can bring a double perspective of investigation: the issue of the oppressed and dominated; and the fight of the vanquished as an inspiration for change, in the present, which contributes to the construction of teaching as a profession.
